Acapulco Mexico Area Attractions

Acapulco’s non-stop nightlife is legendary. The town comes alive at night, when disco hopping takes center stage. There is no place in the world that can rival Acapulco for sophisticated, dazzling, discos. Many feature heavenly bay views, fireworks, and laser shows – with impeccable service.

For non-dancers, there are dozens of popular lobby bars, featuring Vegas-style entertainment.

Some of Mexico’s best international and Mexican cuisine is served around Acapulco Bay. Choose from restaurants with sumptuous bay views, or go casual at one of Acapulco’s plentiful, fun-filled bistros. For family activities, Acapulco offers calm beaches, several parks, and the CiCi Water Sports Park for children.

Don’t Miss:

·          Acapulco's Clavadistas (cliff divers) at La Quebrada. The divers leap from cliffs 136 above the crashing Pacific, landing in an 11 ft. deep inlet.

·          Mercado Municipal, and Shopping in the boutiques and handicrafts markets along the Costera Miguel Alemán

·          El Fuerte de San Diego, a fort built in the 18th century to protect Acapulco from pirates and home of the Anthropology Museum

·          La Casa de Mascaras (“The House of Masks”) in downtown Acapulco with its collection of Guerrero masks. Guerrero is renowned for its folk art and masks, some of which are worn in its traditional folkloric dances.

·          Los Flamingos Hotel - stop in for a drink at the hilltop Los Flamingos Hotel, built in the 1930’s – where Hollywood’s biggest stars including Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, & Gary Cooper partied.

·          The Home of Dolores Olmedo is a work of art. In 1956, the renowned Mexican artist Diego Rivera covered its outside wall with a mural of colorful mosaic tiles, shells, and stones. The unique work is one of his last.

The Best Nightlife: Acapulco Discos – “Nightlife can't possibly get more lavish, extravagant, or flashy than it is in Acapulco, Mexico's hands-down diva. This city's main cultural attractions are the clubs that jam until sunrise, several of which have walls of windows overlooking the bay.”

The Best Culinary Experiences: “El Mirador”, for Margaritas. You can enjoy a great margarita at many places in Mexico, but this is the only one that serves them with a view of the spectacular La Quebrada cliff divers” (located in the Hotel Plaza Las Glorias).
